Oakwood Developments - FAQ's

How do I register my interest in a specific development?
There are a number of ways you can register your interest. Most of our developments will have a Marketing Suite on site so please feel free to call in for a look around. Alternatively, you can call our head office on 01484 404781 or register online.

How do I go about reserving a specific plot?
Once you have decided on the plot you would like to purchase, Oakwood require a £1000 deposit (unfortunately, this is non-refundable). From there, you have 28 days in which to exchange contracts (usually 10% of agreed selling price). Our sales team will assist you throughout this process, keeping you up to date with developments.

Can Oakwood advise me on getting a mortgage?
Oakwood Developments (Yorkshire) Ltd or our appointed selling agent will be more than happy to provide you with details of independent financial advisors.

Can I change anything about the internal specification of my chosen property?
With any Oakwood development, the earlier in the build process that a plot is reserved or purchased the better! It is far more feasible to make internal changes and adjustments before the build is complete. Our staff are always on hand to discuss and advise on possibilities.

How can I hear about future Oakwood Developments?
If you register online or choose to enquire by calling 01484 404781, you will then be made aware of future developments by your preferred means (post, telephone, e-mail, fax).

How is my property insured?
All properties built by Oakwood exceed NHBC (National House-Building Council) standards and are protected by a 10 year NHBC guarantee.

What do I do if I have a problem with my new home?
All Oakwood homes are under warranty for 2 years. If during those 2 years you have any problems contact our main switchboard on 01484 404781. Apartments differ, as they are maintained by a management company (details of which can be found in your 'Welcome Pack')

With my new apartment, how much will I have to pay to the management company each year?
For the first two years after completion, the development will be maintained by a management company, set up specifically to manage that development. Management charges vary between developments but can be discussed with our sales staff. Once the 2 year period is over, the management company is then handed over to residents, who can then continue in the same way or change aspects of the company if they so wish.
